All possible emphasis is given to extra curricular activities; students enthusiastically participate in the various competitions, games, sports events offered by the school keeping a balance with the academic demands. The school aims at the all round development of the child’s personality. The students regularly participate in popular inter school competitive events like the La Fest, ISC meet, Sanrevo and so on. This fosters the spirit of sportsmanship and enables the students develop a healthy camaraderie.

The annual day is a much awaited event in the school. It is usually celebrated in the month of January.

Library Period

The school curriculum includes a weekly library period for classes I – VII. The school has a full fledged library catering to the requirements of students of classes from one to twelve. The library is open to students during school hours. Membership in the library is mandatory. Membership cards are issued to students, who can keep the books for one week.

Newspaper in Education Program

Every class gets the benefit of reading two newspapers daily. This keeps the students abreast of current events and happenings, other than inculcating strong reading habits. As part of The Hindu Newspaper in Education Program, classes on soft skills and personality development were conducted by representatives from The Hindu.

Quiz Club

The school can boast of a vibrant quiz club. Quizzing competitions are conducted within the school regularly and the students are also made to participate in competitions conducted by external organizations.

Eco Club

The eco club actively functions in the school and seeks to maintain an eco-friendly environment in the school. Students plant trees and participate in meetings of the ‘World Wild Life’.

Value education

A special period every week is set apart for value education. Besides helping to establish a good rapport between students and teachers, these classes help to instill moral values and principles in students.

Prayer group

Weekly prayer meetings and First Friday Holy Mass are conducted. The school has a KCSL wing.

Music Lessons

Guitar and organ classes are arranged on a regular basis at the school for students who are interested.

Sports and Games

Students are encouraged to take part in various games and sports to facilitate their physical and mental well being. The school has two play grounds and a basketball court. Basketballs, volleyballs, shuttle cocks, badminton racquets, dumbbells, skipping ropes, chess boards, cricket bats and balls, shot put discs and javelin are provided to students. Students take training in basketball from a veteran player.

Students from classes one to eight have to attend mass PT session once a week. On Wednesdays all students wear their PT uniform – blue, red, yellow or green, according to the house they belong to. Sport’s Day is an important event when house-wise competitions are conducted for various sporting events like races, relays, long jump, shot put and javelin throw.

Prefect/House System

As in other schools, the school follows a Prefect/House System. The school is divided into four houses viz. ruby, emerald, topaz and sapphire with a house mistress to each house.

The investiture ceremony conducted in the beginning of the year empowers the Head Girl, Assistant Head Girl, House Captain, Assistant House Captain, Social Service leader, Cultural Activity Leader to act as gatekeepers of discipline. They coordinate the various activities of the school such as maintaining the program and bulletin board, supervising the cleanliness of the school and seeing to the overall conduct and demeanor of the students.

The year comes to an end with the final function called ‘Passing on the Lamp’ ceremony, in which the outgoing students hand over little lamps to the new senior batch – in a gesture symbolizing the transfer of knowledge and responsibility.

Parent Teacher Association

The PTA (Parent Teacher Association) of the school becomes a forum for healthy and constructive interaction between the teachers and parents. The class-wise PTA meeting of Holy Angels’ ISC School is held at least once a year. Many issues pertaining to individual students and to the school in general such as facilities, curriculum, and teaching methods are discussed to bring out effective solutions and give a fillip to the overall functioning of the school.

School Magazine

The school magazine brought out every year is a concerted effort of students and teachers guided by the Principal. The students are encouraged to contribute literary pieces to the magazine to make it an album of poems, short stories, essays, sketches, anecdotes and experiences. It contains reports of the major school events, its functioning and annual day messages.

Class magazine

In addition to the school magazine, the students are expected to bring out a class magazine every year, under the guidance of the class teacher. This is a miniature school magazine where each student gets an opportunity to showcase her literary and aesthetic talent.

Social Service Club

The students along with teachers undertake social activities and contribute to brightening up the lives of the disadvantaged. Medical assistance to the needy, financial aid to the homeless and regular visits to orphanages with gifts form the main activities of the social service club. Within the school this club is involved in coaching the academically weak students.

Study tours and field trips

These trips are conducted on a yearly basis to take away the strain of a rigid academic routine.

School Band

The school band brings together students who are musically inclined. Under the guidance of a competent teacher, the students play on the twenty one piece band.

Summer Camp

Summer camps are conducted during vacation to enable the students to pursue their hobbies, literary talents and sports interests. The fun filled days of exciting activities give the children a reprieve.

Yoga Classes

Weekly classes are conducted for yoga aiming at the holistic development of the student. These classes are offered to students from class IX onwards.
